DESTE
NY Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1
September 30 – October 2, 2011

The Deste Foundation for Contemporary Art will be participating at the 2011 NY Art Book Fair at MoMA PS1, previewing this Thursday, September 29, 6 – 9PM, and running from September 30 – October 2.

A special library kiosk of DESTE books, a cross-section of their publications since 1983, can be found at ARTBOOK | D.A.P. Booth (B07, Ground Floor), including Toilet Paper, brought by the aberrant, animated mind of Italian-born provocateur, mischief-maker, and macabre witness to our times Maurizio Cattelan, who has designed a special tote bag for the U.S. launch of Toilet Paper for the NYABF, as well as DESTE’s newest book Doug Aitken’s Black Mirror, starring Chloe Sevigny, which was presented this year at the DESTE Project Space on Hydra Island off of Athens, Greece.

Josh Smith has created a special edition of 100 of the DESTE publication
A Guest + A Host = A Ghost for the 2011 NYABF, reworking each limited edition case thereby assimilating the packaging intended to house the book into the object itself. The limited edition copies as well as the book itself are available at KARMA (Gallery H03, S111, First Floor).

The New York Art Book Fair is free and open to the public:
Friday, September 30 – Sunday, October 2, 11AM – 7PM.
