TAC found itself surrounded by paintings that had reached record prices at auction and many others which were invaluable. With bubbly flowing amply (and spilling also, albeit thankfully on the floor, not art works!) the atmosphere was animated and also fairly cramped. With collectors and gallerists aplenty, accompanied by an odd but delicious fish and chips canape, conversation topics were diverse and intelligent (until, rather unfortunately the Made In Chelsea crowd strode arrogantly and ignorantly into a room dedicated to culture…).
Christie’s is always a pleasure to visit and the artworks (auction dates on TAC’s homepage) are always of exceptional quality, as are party attendees.
