Becky MacGuire, Head of Chinese Export Art, comments: “We were thrilled to see private buying from many different quarters in the saleroom today. High quality famille rose porcelains made the top prices, followed closely by classic China Trade paintings and Qianlong period birds and animals. We look forward to tomorrow’s sale of the exceptional Peter H B Frelinghuysen Jr Collection of Chinese Export Porcelain.”
