Beers.Lambert Contemporary presents Norwegian duo Lello // Arnell to London audiences with Echo Chamber, their artists’ first solo exhibition in the UK, and the gallery’s inaugural exhibition in its new location off Old Street.
Jørgen Craig Lello & Tobias Arnell’s practice includes sculpturally-based works that incorporate photography, collage and even painting in a modernist-styled, monochromatic aesthetic. While fundamentally idea-based, the works emphasize their resolute materiality with a wry ‘pseudo-conceptualism’, questioning basic social structures, and re-constructing an absurdist interpretation of ‘the big picture’.
Beers.Lambert Contemporary announces a new award for emerging artists worldwide: the First Annual Beers.Lambert Award for Emerging Art is a generous monetary prize awarded to up to 8 emerging, contemporary artists working in all disciplines and open to artists internationally.
As one of its primary operating initiatives, Beers.Lambert’s artist-support program has always believed in nurturing emerging artists and celebrating excellence in emerging contemporary art. The award was devised as a method to recognize outstanding achievement and/or promise in the arts, to present emerging artists with a unique exhibition opportunity in London, and offer international exposure to under-represented artists to help them succeed.
